Chatting with mummy

Story time with daddy

I'm a real kiwi

Look mummy, no teeth yet

I can hold my head up well now

DDaddys little helper

Yay - yesterday was my three-month day!!! We celebrated by going out for dinner. I sat on mummy's lap for a while, so I could check out the restaurant and then got a bit sleepy so had a lie down in my buggy - I didn't sleep though as I didn't want to miss any of the action. On monday I had my three month check and am proud to say I now weigh 5.7kg and am 64cm long. Mummy tells me I am tall and slim as I am on the 75% for length and the 25% for weight - not sure what that means but I think it is a complicated way of saying I take after my daddy!! I also had my next round of jabs - not very pleasant, but mummy looked so upset that I had to be strong for her so she didn't cry. Its a good thing mummy has me and daddy to look after her. I'm now getting quite excited as my mormor and morfar arrive to see me in just over a week and then a bit later Aunty Sue, Uncle Barney and my big cousin Jasper are coming to see me and then still later, my grandma and pops. Its going to be such fun to have all these people around, though I shall have to make sure I look after them all which could be a bit tiring.

Tomorrow daddy, mummy and I are going to Ho Chi Minh (at the other end of Vietnam) as daddy is working there for the week. It's perfect timing as mummy's cousin Helena is going to be there tomorrow, so I get to meet her as well. The rest of the week mummy and I will be exporing whilst daddy works.

Singapore Holiday

I am now a flying pro...
Daddy and I 'do' Singapore

Sight-seeing is tiring work

My buggy has air-conditioning...

Mummy and I at Raffles
What an eventful week last week was - I hit double figures last friday (yup I'm now really old - over 10 weeks), I've grown out of some of my clothes and we went on my first holiday.

I woke mummy and daddy up nice and early (4.00am) on Monday, had breakfast, made sure they were really awake (after all, we didn't want to miss our flight) and then, having done my part, went back to sleep. Mummy and daddy had booked a taxi for 7.00 so they felt I woke them up a bit early, but I think its important to have lots of time! Being an old hand at flying by this stage, I snoozed a lot of the flight. I didn't have a bassinet (aparently the airlines don't think babies need them on short-haul flights - I wonder how many of us they surveyed to come to that conclusion), but daddy got out my front pack so I spent most of the flight snuggled up on his chest which was very nice. I woke up at the airport in Singapore and was starving, so mummy had to feed me on the shuttle on the way to our hotel - its a little tricky eating when driving around (the driver drove quite jerkily), but I coped well.

I have to say, being a tourist and shopping (the two things you do in Singapore apparently) is quite tiring, so I slept a lot of the time, however the highlights of the trip as I remember were:

- seeing the orangutangs at Singapore Zoo (I had just had lunch and was chilling with mummy in my front-pack).
- the night safari (I didn't see very much as it was dark, but I heard the animals, had a yummy dinner and then went for an evening stroll in my buggy with mummy and daddy).
-lunch at Raffles Hotel (aparently a very posh place to eat-the milk was yummy as always).
- we also visited the Long Bar at Raffles, but mummy said I had to wait a few years before I can try a Singapore Sling for which it is famous - I later found out it doesn't contain mummy's milk, so can't quite understand the appeal...).
- I now have some new pjs and singlets which are nice and roomy.
Mummy and Daddy also enjoyed China Town and the heritage area, but I slept through those so can't really comment. On the flight back I stayed awake - cousin Jasper had done this on the trip back from Europe and as he's bigger than me he must know best... ...it did make me really tired though, so maybe I need to be a bit older before I try again.

I'd better go as it is time for a snooze.
