Happy times...

So this is what my hands are for...

Me with my new bath friend...

I am now 2 months old! I have to say that, looking back, I feel I have done a lot of stuff for a two-month old!!!! The last week or so I have taken things a little bit more easily and concentrated on food, sleep and playing. Mummy and daddy are pleased at how I’ve grown (now at around 5kg). My major discovery recently is that not only do I have hands, but they are really cool as I can use them to grab things…the ties on daddy’s jumper, mummy’s hair and so on!!! They also come in handy when I play with Mr Minkey and Mr Moosey in my play gym. I really like it when mummy sings to me and when daddy and mummy read me stories and show my appreciation by smiling at them and cooing/ laughing which makes them smile, so we are all very happy most of the time. I have also found a new friend – I can’t quite understand it because he only seems to come to visit at bath-time, and always seems to be bathing at the same time as me….still, he looks very nice and I am sure we will get to know each other better in time.

Next week we are all going to Singapore as it is Tet (Chinese New Year). Daddy has the whole week off so we thought we’d do some exploring of SE Asia. In preparation I had one of my sleeps today in my travel-cot (it took mummy quite while to assemble it – good thing she is good at jigsaws). It was really comfortable and it’s good to know I will have my bed and food supply with me at all times!!! I’ll post some pictures from my adventures, but in the meantime here are some of me at home.
Love Oliver

Chillin with Mummy...
Hey there,

I'm now beginning to settle in to my new home here in Hanoi. Our apartment is good and I now recognise the different rooms when mummy and daddy carry me around. I have also been out and about in town a bit - must say its all a bit busy and noisy. Luckily I am in my buggy most of the time with mummy or daddy driving and I know their driving is much better than the vietnamese and that they will make sure I am safe.

I have had a sociable few days keeping up with family on skype - my first 'chat' was with my cousin Jasper - very good to catch up with him as we both have very busy schedules with lots of yummy milk to drink and lots of sleeping to do, so its hard to find a time we are both up and free. He's quite big so I realise that I have a lot of growing to do to keep up with him - mind you he does have a two month start on me... I have also chatted to my Mormor and Morfar, Aunty Katti and my cousins Ellinor and Charlotte in Sweden and my grandma and Pops in NZ.

In the last couple of weeks I have discovered how to smile - its so easy to do and makes mummy and daddy's day - they are so easily pleased! I have also started chatting a bit more in 'coo and gurgle'. I have also had my 6 week vaccinations. I was really good and only cried a little bit when the needle was actually stuck in. Mummy and daddy were so proud of me!!!!

We went out for dinner with daddy's office manager and his wife and son to celebrate New Year. I was in my carry cot whilst the others ate and chatted. Mummy and daddy appeared to have a very good time and said the food was lovely. We didn't stay out too late though as we had to go home so I could have dinner. Technically I am now in my second year (which is quite impressive when you are only 6.5 weeks old). Today was mummy and daddys wedding anniversary. We all went out to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate. As a special treat I was very quiet and let mummy and daddy enjoy their food. We then waked home and got home just in time for my supper.

I need to go to bed so will stop there.
